Most people, when asked what they "do for a living" respond with a description of their 'Active Income' * source - their job, profession or basically, their main source of income as if how you generated your money defined you.

Wouldn't you rather answer that question with a description of what you 'love' to do. Financial freedom is about freeing you from having to go to work to meet your expenses, allowing you to chose to spend your time at something you love. Maybe that is still work, but it'll be work you choose to do. Maybe it'll be work, but it'll be the volunteer work you've always wanted to do. Maybe it'll be spending time with others inspiring them to become financially free also so that you can go on trips to fantastic places together now - not when you're too old to enjoy it!


*Active Income is whatever you are doing to create your paycheck today. For most people, it is a job with an hourly wage or annual salary. Either way, it is a trade, your time for their money.


So, what is the definition of "Financial Freedom?"

The description that makes the most sense is the simplest one: Financial freedom is achieved when you get your passive income to exceed your expenses.

Fine then, what is Passive Income?

"Passive Income" is defined many ways.

The IRS defines passive income as "income generated by an activity in which the taxpayer does not materially participate."

Passive Income is not time dependent.

Passive Income works for you, not the other way around.

Passive Income will require some activity and attention, but the time involved will be minimal compared to the returns. You get to determine how much time and when you spend it.

True Passive Income is something that you can walk away from and it still pays you.

Passive income has the ability to multiply, without limit, the use of your time, effort and energy.
